January 25 - Around 1400 items were donated from Mt. Airy Middle School Students to the food drive! What does Mt. Airy think about the canned food drive? Well, let's ask a couple of 7th graders.
January 17 - On Friday the 13th it was Medieval Day here at Mount Airy Middle. I interviewed a few students and asked how they thought the day went.
Newspaper Club Meets for the First Time
December 1, 2022 - On December 1, 2022, Mt. Airy Middle School hosted it's first Newspaper Club meeting of the year. There were over 70 students who signed up to be part of the club. The new advisor, Mr. Hull, requested students who were interested in, not just writing, but a wide array of journalistic talents. Some of these included comic artists, photographers, creative writers, and even podcast journalists. While there was a literary publication in the past, Mr. Hull hopes to have on-going, news-centered stories published online weekly. In addition, students will be uploading podcasts that can be listened to on demand. At the end of the year, the hope is to have a printed collection of the year's stories distributed to any student who would like one.
